A unique winter mountain eco-adventure for all. Serre Chevalier is a wonderfully diverse and exceptionally attractive ski area in the southern French Alps. With everything from easy nursery slopes to vast open bowls of untouched powder, this relatively unknown resort has authentic charm and much to offer. With the natural hot springs and the Grand Bains Spa, there are plenty of opportunities for relaxation and alternatives to snowsports for non-skiers also. The cross-country ski piste (35kms ski de fond piste) and a big area for kite-skiing is just at the doorstep.
The Hotel Rif Blanc is situated in the wonderfully pituresque and authentic alpine spa village of Monetier Les Bains. This sweet little town is a far cry from a purpose built ski town or resort. The hotel is very friendly and cosy just off the main road and only 6 minutes walk (or free ski bus) to the ski lifts.
Monetier is one of the highest villages in the Serre Chevalier resort at 1500 metres, and is famous for its natural hot spring bats and enduring local architecture. Bordering the Ecrins National Park with views of stunning glaciers, it provides over 250km of marked pistes making it one of France's largest ski resorts. A huge array of slopes run across the valley, varying from easy nursery slopes to challenging black run and unforgettable off-piste descents. There are also cross-country skiing tracks, some of the best kite-skiing areas in the Alps, snow-shoeing and other winter sports to discover and enjoy.
