OmSki was founded by Sophie Carver. Sophie is well-known amongst friends for making her passion her vocation, her aim in life has always been to merge the outer adventure with the inner. With OmSki, she decided to combine her passion for outdoor sport, particularly skiing, travel and yoga to offer a ski holiday that is more than just a holiday, more than just a retreat, more than just an outdoor adventure, more than just a learning experience, more than just a great group week, but a combination of all these things, offering what she calls a fully "integrated ski adventure". Sophie had been practising yoga for 10 years and is a fully qualified Hatha Yoga Teacher. Previous adventures have included living in the Sierra Nevada in Spain running her own horse riding holiday business; Great Glen Yurts, an eco-yurt camp in Scotland; and conservation work for the Department for International Development in London and Africa. Sophie has a first class degree in Geography and an MSc both from Edinburgh University. Sophie fell in love with La Grave on her first day there and now makes it her Winter home every season, living in Scotland/India the rest of the year.
